Barbara Jean Carpenter

January 14, 1936 — May 2, 2017

Barbara Jean Carpenter, our loving Mama and Grandmama, was welcomed home by her Lord on May 2, 2017. After a long battle with Alzheimer's, she was brought into the joy of her Master. She was never alone during her fight with this disease, after all, nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. He is faithful. She is now in His presence and never has to be concerned with disease or death ever again! We are positive that our daddy, Ralph (Buddy) Carpenter, our brother, Randy Carpenter, her son-in-law, Bobby Mason, and her grandson Michael Lee Peusch, were all there to greet her! This is the promise and comfort we have in our Lord Jesus.

Mama's sister, our Aunt Mamie Carpenter of Greenwood, Mississippi, and her husband, our Uncle Grady Carpenter, visited with Mama often through the years. They have shared an abiding friendship and many hours of laughter together. We are forever grateful for their love. Mama and Aunt Mamie had 12 other siblings who have already completed their Earthly journeys. We knew them as Uncle Son, Uncle Will, Uncle Oatie, Uncle Bennie, Uncle Millard, Uncle Boots, Aunt Sis, Aunt Irene, Aunt Ella Rivers, Aunt Gertie, Aunt Dill, and little Ammabell. There are many fond memories of these and their families. We have many cousins whose love we continue to cherish.

Funeral Services for Ms. Carpenter will held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 12 PM at Chester Baptist Church near Ackerman, MS. Interment will follow at Chester Baptist Church Cemetery in Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at Chester Baptist Church near Ackerman, MS. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman, MS is in charge of all arrangements.

Mama's children and families who are left to complete their work here until the Lord calls them home are:

Bonnie Mason: Clay Mason, son; Glenn Mason, son, (Brianne Mason, wife, and Everly Jane Mason, daughter),

Shelley Peusch (Michael Peusch, husband): Matthew Peusch, son (Emily Peusch, wife, and Addison Peusch, daughter), Drew Peusch (Brooke Peusch, daughter), and Rachel Peusch, daughter,

Joan Carpenter Stevens (daughter-in-law): Joshua Carpenter, son (Regina, wife); Casse Carpenter, daughter, and Caleb Carpenter, son,

Peggy Upchurch: Ali Garrett, daughter (John Garrett, husband, and Fitz Garrett, son), and Zac Upchurch, son,

Anita Dana (Sam Dana, husband):

Tessa Crump, daughter, and Olivia Crump, daughter.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
