Barbara James, 83, of Sturgis, MS, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, at her home in Sturgis, MS. 

Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2024, from 10:00-11:00AM at Coleman Funeral Home, Ackerman, MS. Funeral Service will be Monday, July 29, 2024, at 11:00AM at Coleman Funeral Home, Ackerman, MS, with Pastor Melvin Mordecai officiating. Burial will be at Double Springs Methodist Cemetery in Maben, MS with Coleman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Barbara was born on May 5, 1941 in Maben, Ms, to the late Willie and Lizette Love. Barbara achieved her Bacherlor’s degree at Mississippi State. Barbara was a social worker at Choctaw County Department of Human Services and finished her career working at Golden Triangle Planning and Development. Barbara loved the outdoors and horse riding. She loved to bow hunt, and was a multiple state champion in archery. Barbara was a member of Antioch Baptist Church of Winston County. She loved her family fiercely. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Leland James; children- Tina Tullos Goodin and Tracey Tullos Anderson married to Chad Anderson and Mary Harrison married to Robert Harrison and Annice Hill; sister- Iris Farley; grandchildren- Ashton May married to Alex May, Dalton Anderson, Lynley Grace Anderson, Garret Harrison, John Michael Hill and Nikki Davis and several great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be – Garrett Harrison, Chad Anderson, Dalton Anderson, Mack Fondren, Paul Pearson and Alex May.
