Betty Carol Long Johnson of Ackerman, MS. passed away on Tuesday March 17, 2026 at her home in Ackerman. Betty was born October 11,1950 in Oktibbeha County, MS to Jimmie Lawrence Long and Nanilou (McCarty) Long. She was 76 years old. Betty was a graduate of Holmes Community College where she majored in English. She was a member of Ackerman Baptist Church. Betty was a homemaker and made her career taking care of her family. She loved her friends, family, and church very much. She also had a love of plants and flowers. She enjoyed watching them grow and taking care of them.

Funeral services will be held at Ackerman Baptist Church in Ackerman on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM before the funeral services. Burial will follow the funeral services at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.

Betty is survived by her brother David Long, a son Jimbo (Jessica) Johnson, daughters Carol Johnson and Beth (Jeff) Paulk, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Johnson, father Jimmie Lawrence Long, mother Nanilou Long, sister Cheryl (Long) Stacy, and brother Jimmie Glen (Pete) Long.
