Blanche Mearle Phillips Gammill

Mearle Phillips Gammill passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, at her residence near Weir, MS. Mearle was born January 9, 1937, in Choctaw County, MS, to Leland J. and Icey Lena(Moore) Phillips. She was 84 years old and a member of Fentress Baptist Church near Ackerman, MS. Mearle retired from Piggly Wiggly Grocery where she worked as a deli cook.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. till service time. Burial will follow at Fentress Baptist Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

Mearle is survived by 1 daughter, Anita(Shane) Crowe of Madison, MS; 1 brother, Stanley(Maxine) Phillips of Weir, MS; and 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Luke Crowe, both of Madison, MS.

Mearle was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Owens and James S. Gammill; her parents; 6 brothers; and 2 sisters.
