Bobby Joe Miller, 80, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018, at his residence in Ackerman, MS, after a lengthy illness. He was born February 14, 1938, in Choctaw County, Mississippi to John Wesley and Lillie Jane (Ray) Miller. Bobby Joe was a retired employee of B&W in West Point, Mississippi. He was a member of Salem Independent Methodist Church in the Chester, Mississippi community. Bobby Joe's greatest loves were church, family and the outdoors. He loved spending his time outside working in yards and gardening.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. from the Salem Independent Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. till service time at the church. Pallbearers are Bill Bishop, Paul Courtney, James Courtney, J.B. Edwards, Steve Montgomery, Jimmy Upchurch, Casey Orr, and Ronnie Burdine. Honorary pallbearers are Junior Clay, Jimmy Crowder, Jerry Orr, Alvin Coleman, Ned Abbott, and Bobby McCulloch.
Bobby Joe is survived by his wife, Shirley (Crimm) Miller, 1 son, Dale Miller(Jan) of Brandon, MS, and 1 daughter, Annette Brooks(Dearl) of Meridian, Mississippi, 6 grandchildren, Autumn Beck(Tommy) of Covington, LA, John Brooks(April) of Greenwood, MS, Carrie Davis(Chad) of Germantown, TN, Amber Brawley of Olive Branch, MS, Elizabeth Miller and Wesley Miller of Brandon, MS, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Bobby Joe is preceded in death by his parents.
