Brenda Lucas Myers

Brenda Sue Lucas Myers, 69 of Weir, MS, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 surrounded by family. Over the years, Brenda worked at M&F Bank in Weir, in the office of Dr O'Kelly, Attala County Nursing Home, and sat with the elderly at their homes. She enjoyed baking cakes for special events and was an excellent seamstress. 

Brenda had been a long time member of Weir Baptist Church where she loved to fellowship with friends and fellow members. She later moved her membership to Bear Creek Baptist near McCool, MS and enjoyed attending Sunday schoolchurch activities. 

Brenda was married to the love of her life, Robert for 53 years. They traveled while he was in the military and lived in California and New Mexico. They moved home to MS and lived in Louisville until they moved back to Weir. There they raised two sons and became active members of the community. 

After retirement, Brenda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attended as many of their activities as she could. She taught them how to cook, do crafts, and how to enjoy the little things. Brenda loved the Lord and made sure her grandchildren knew Him. 

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Eunice Lucas, and her youngest son, Lucas Myers. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Lee Earl Myers, her son, Robert Myers (Janet), her ex daughter in law, Shannon Myers, her sister, Barbara Lucas Parish (Ray), her grandchildren, Matt Allen, Katy Myers, Seth Myers, Whitleigh Myers McGlothin (Gage), Kaydence Myers, Laura-Brooke Myers, and many nieces and nephews. 

The visitation will be held Friday, April 21st at 9:30-11:00am at Bear Creek Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 11:00.
