Carroll Burton Dawkins

 Carroll Burton Dawkins, formerly of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at his residence in Colorado Springs, CO. Carroll was born on September 19, 1946, in Choctaw County, MS, to Albert Benny and Ruby (Wood) Dawkins. He was 78 years old. Carroll was a Retired HVAC Technician and a member of the First Baptist Church in Eupora, MS. He was a United States Army Veteran who fought in the Vietnam War.

Funeral services will be held at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery near Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home.

Carroll is survived by his wife, Shirley Kay (Wood) Dawkins of Colorado Springs, CO; his 2 sons, Warren Dawkins of Washington and Adam Kyle (Charity) of Colorado Springs, CO; his daughter, Angela Dawley (Chuck) of New Hope, MS; and his 2 brothers, Calvin Dawkins of Brandon, MS and Wayne Dawkins of Maben, MS. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Benny and Ruby (Wood) Dawkins; his 3 brothers, Leon Dawkins, Marvin Dawkins, and Ozell Dawkins, and his 2 sisters, Myrtle Sides and Doris Thomas.
