Charles D. "Smokey" Oswalt

Charles D. "Smokey" Oswalt, Sr. of Ackerman, MS, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Oswalt was born May 29, 1931, in Choctaw County, MS, to Dutch Dorris and Irene(Conwill) Oswalt. He was 89 years old, and was a retired manager of 4-County Electric Power Association.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. till service time at the church. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery in Ackerman, MS, with Coleman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Oswalt is survived by his wife, Sammie(Ballard) Oswalt of Ackerman, MS; 1 son, Charles(Betsy) Oswalt, Jr. of Ackerman, MS; 1 sister, Emilia(Tom) Wilson of Jackson, MS; and 2 grandchildren, Chay and Molly Oswalt also of Ackerman, MS.

Mr. Oswalt is preceded in death by his parents and 1 nephew, Chris Wilson.
