Dorothy M. Anderson, of Ackerman, MS, passed awaySunday, June14, 2026, at her home in Ackerman, MS. Dorothy was born April 27, 1948, in Magnolia, MS, to Cecil and Hazel (Harrison) May. She was 78 years old. Dorothy was a retired sales clerk. She was a member of Chester Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, 12:00 noon, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS, with Rev. Reeves Garrett officiating. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to service time beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Enon Cemetery in Ackerman, MS.

Dorothy is survived by 1 daughter, Angela (Jim) Ray of Maben, MS; 1 son, Chad (Tracy) Anderson of Fairhope, AL; 1 brother, J.R. (Mae) May of Grenada, MS; 1 brother-in-law, Buddy Anderson of Reform, MS; 4 grandchildren, Kelli (Jonathan) Boles of Brandon, MS; Kaitlin (Connor) McLaughlin of Biloxi, MS; Dalton Anderson of Fairhope, AL; and Lynley Grace Anderson of Fairhope, AL; 2 great-grandchildren, Jon Anders Bolesand Everly Boles both of Brandon, MS.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Cleve B. “Hap” Anderson; her parents, Cecil and Hazel May; 1 brother, Harvey May; 1 sister, Geneva Nail; 1 toddler brother and 1 infant sister.
