Dorothy Gail Brigman of Weir, MS, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Choctaw Regional Medical Center in Ackerman, MS. Dorothy was born on November14, 1949, in Attala County, MS, to Benjamin Franklin “Ben” Higgs and Eula “Pete” (Odom) Higgs. She was 76years old.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a faithful member of Wake Forest Pentecostal Church in Thomastown, MS.

Memorial services for Dorothy will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS, with Bro. Tim Savell officiating.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Jimmy Boykin (Kristin) of Weir, MS, Brent McKnight (Dana) of Weir, MS, and Kevin Keith (Addy) of Madison, MS; her 3 sisters, Sarah Ward of Carthage, MS, Eva Mae Nowell of Philadelphia, MS, and Betty Jean Hubbert of Texas; and her aunt, Candy Medders (YW) of Kosciusko, MS.

She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Kristopher, Destiny, Blake, Emily, Shelby, Shae, and Cody; as well as 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie McKnight; her 2 sons, David Lee Boykin and John Allen Boykin; her grandson, Destin Boykin; her parents, Benjamin Franklin “Ben” Higgs and Eula “Pete” (Odom) Higgs; and her brother, Bennie Frank Higgs.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman, MS, will be in charge of arrangements.
