Garland Will Raines of Ackerman, MS, passed away onFriday, October 4, 2024, at his residence in Ackerman, MS.Garland was born on February 9, 1940, in Reform, MS, to Lois and Nova(Wood) Raines. He was 84 years old and was a retired trucker and logger. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Danny Irvin officiating. Burial will follow at Flower Ridge Cemetery near Louisville, MS.

Garland is survived by 1 daughter, Lee Ann (Scottie) Smith of Ackerman, MS; 3 sons, Scott Raines of Ackerman, MS, Todd Raines of Eupora, MS, Tony (Sandy) Raines of Cumberland, MS; 2 sisters, Gayra (Alf) Williams of Mathiston, MS, Shiann Bennett of Starkville, MS; 1 brother, Gaylon (Nancy) Raines of Ackerman, MS; 3 grandchildren, Tony Mark (Karla) Raines, Sam Raines, Blake (Tucker) James; and 3 great-grandchildren, Karder Raines, Kimber Raines, Logan Raines.

Garland is preceded in death by his wife, Molly Raines; his parents; 1 great-grandson, Mark Raines; 1 brother, Dick Raines; 1 sister, Nannie McPherson.
