Jamie Joy Murphy

Jamie Joy Murphy, 88, retired employee of Garan, Inc., passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Carrington Nursing Home in Starkville, MS. She was born October 17, 1929, in Winston County, MS to James & Mary Elizabeth(Lindsey) Kinard. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Sturgis, MS.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Murphy were held on Friday, August 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS. Burial followed in Craig Springs Cemetery in Sturgis, MS.

Visitation was held Friday, August 24, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS.

Mrs. Murphy was survived by her son, Rodney Murphy of Memphis, TN, daughter-in-law, Linda Murphy of Memphis, TN, 1 sister, Mary Jo Stewart of Mendenhall, MS, 1 grandchild, and 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, and 1 sister.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Craig Springs Cemetery in Sturgis, MS.
