Jane Marie Anderson

Jane Marie Anderson of Houston, MS, passed away onWednesday, October 8, 2025, at her residence in Houston, MS. Jane was born on September 6, 1964, in Jackson, MS,to William Parvee Rutherford, Jr., and Helen Marie (Lee) Rutherford. She was 61 years old.

Jane was a homemaker and of the Baptist denomination. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandbabies. She was a loving sister and a huge advocate for family. She put family above all else. She took great joy in helping others. She loved being there for people when they were sick. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and gardening. She loved finding hidden treasures while shopping, and she was a master of the seven-layer dessert. Jane loved watching western movies and her front porch swings. She also had a real knack for decorating, which she loved to do as well. Always went to her for advice on that. She loved being surrounded by pictures and mementos.

Memorial services will be held at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM with Bro. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Burial at Salem Cemetery East in Attala County, MS, will follow at a later date.

Jane is survived by Cecil Watkins; her mother, Helen Marie (Lee) Rutherford; her sons, Timothy Clay Vowell (Sharon) of Ackerman, MS, William Joseph Vowell (Lauren) of Sturgis, MS, Christopher Lee Anderson (Guangmei Cao) of Houston, MS, and James Kody Anderson (Kayla) of Longview, MS; her daughter, Lydia Faye Anderson (Wilson Tyler Saxton) of Houston, MS; and her 7 grandchildren, George Vowell, Layton Jackson Files, Lash Morgan Files, Evalina Rowe Anderson, Irie Rivers Anderson, Delilah Jeane Anderson, and Wilson Parker Saxton. She is also survived by her 3 siblings, Larry Wayne Rutherford, William Randell Rutherford, and Sandra Jean Windham.

Jane was preceded in death by her father, William Parvee Rutherford, Jr.
