Janice Harwice Downs Taylor

Janice Harwice Downs Taylor of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, at her residence near Ackerman, MS. She was born on March 11, 1942, in Kosciusko, MS to Edward and Hazel (Sanders) Downs. Ms. Taylor was 82 years old and was a retired auditor for the State of Mississippi. 

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.,Monday, December 9, 2024, at Mt. Airy Cemetery near Ackerman, MS with Bro. Michael Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Cemetery.

Ms. Taylor is survived by 1 daughter, Tanya Anne McKnight (Robbie) of Ackerman, MS; two grandchildren, Saskia Atkins (Wesley) and Marissa Stacy, both of Ackerman, MS; and three great grandchildren, Arianah Atkins, Rylan Atkins, and Malakhi Taylor, all of Ackeman, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a very special grandmother Hattie Rawson Sanders.
