Joe Douglas Edwards, 68, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at his residence near Ackerman, MS. He was born November 2, 1954, in Choctaw County, Mississippi, to Edgar Floyd and Mary Lou (McMinn) Edwards. Joe was a retired employee of Choctaw County Schools. He was a member of Chester Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Chester Baptist Church near Ackerman, MS, with Rev. Rob Faulk officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. till service time at 11:00 at the church.
Joe is survived by his wife, Rose (Johnson) Edwards of Ackerman, MS; 2 daughters, Tonya (Will) Wallace of Sturgis, MS, Victoria (Dustin) Edwards of Ackerman, MS; 2 sons, Donny (Disaray) Edwards of Ackerman, MS, William Britt of Ft. Worth, Tx; and 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter, Mary; and 1 brother, Edgar.
Memorials may be made to God's Warehouse, c/o Tonya Wallace, 8358 Craig Springs Rd., Sturgis, MS 39769; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
