Joe William "Bill" McClain

Joe William “Bill” McClain of Mathiston, MS, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, near his residence in Choctaw County, MS. Bill was born on February 5, 1948 in  Choctaw County, MS to Joe E. and Mary (Griffin) McClain.  He was 75 years old. Bill was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Blythe Creek Baptist Church.

A private memorial service was held at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date.

Bill is survived by his two daughters, Angel Hollenhead of Mathiston, MS and Kimberly Winters of Stockton, KS, and son, William Cody McClain of Iuka, MS. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Robert “Bob” McClainand Jerry McClain of Mathiston, MS, and Jim McClain of Alabaster, AL; and one sister, Mary Emma Snell of Valdosta, GA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Ruth (Upchurch) McClain and his parents, Joe E. and Mary (Griffin) McClain.
