Mr. John, as he was so fondly known, valued honesty and hard work which he instilled in his children.   A man known to be loving and steadfast, as an only child, he doted over his mother and father.  As a husband, father, and grandfather, unmatched devotion was his commitment.   His love for God, music, history, poetry, animals, his country, and a good laugh, made it hard to not love him for something by all who encountered him.  He was a man of so many talents.  Whether it was when he was younger in sports, operating machinery in the army, on the field with sports or band, driving a bus, teaching a music lesson, chaperoning kids to tennis courts, ballfields, swimming meets, girl scouts, boy scouts, church, GAs, RAs, or various competitions, his plate was always full and he was always happy to oblige.  Never complaining, always maintaining, even if it was just a personal jungle gym himself for kids.  He will always be remembered by his family and those around him for his gentle nature and loving demeanor.

In his Bible is marked Psalms 91:2 – “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God, in Him I trust.”  In this verse, he believed.  His memory will be honored on May 30th from 5-8 or until with visitation at Chester Baptist Church in Ackerman, MS.  Funeral at 11:00 am on Friday, May 31st at Chester Baptist Church in Ackerman, MS.
