John Stanley “Jackie” Woods

John Stanley “Jackie” Woods, of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at his residence in Ackerman, MS. Jackie was born on November 21, 1957, in Choctaw County, MS, to Murry S. and Altha Wynell (Wood) Woods. He was 68 years old. Jackie was a sewing machine mechanic and a member of Ackerman Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at Ackerman Church of Christ, in Ackerman, MS, on Thursday, December 11,2025, at 11:00 AM, with Bro. Paul Mowrer officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Coleman Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held prior to service time starting at 10:00 AM at Ackerman Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Salem Independent Methodist Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Anna Louisa Woods; 3 daughters, Misty Woods and Shawna Murphy of Ackerman, MS, and Brianna Woods of Oregon; his brother, Ricky Woods (Susan) of Sturgis, MS; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brittany Woods; his parents, Murry S. and Altha Wynell (Wood) Woods; his sister, Anna McClure; and one brother, Hamp Woods.
