"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all." Proverbs 31:28-29 (KJV)
Margaret Kate(Cobb) King, 86, of Ackerman, MS, surrounded by family at her residence, passed away from this world, Monday, November 2, 2020, and into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.
Margaret was devoted to her family and, most importantly, to her Lord. She lived a life dedicated to serving othersâ¦.family, friends, and God. She carried many titles to those who loved her. As a wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, she was "Margaret". The doting parent to Peggy and Lesia was known as "Mother". To her special sons-in-law she was always "Mrs. King". She was given the title "Grandmother" by her first grandchild, Lewanda and later shared with her husband, Mel. Later she became "MaMaw" to Cynthia, her husband Joey, Katie and husband Charles. When Drake arrived, she became affectionately known as "Grandma" to him. Butâ¦.her favorite title of all would probably be the one given to her by her 5 GREAT-grandchildrenâ¦..Emily, Allie, Jonah, Owen, and Stella Kate. She LOVED hearing the name "Granny" from these extra special little people!
Margaret was a true example of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was a caregiver to many from a very early age in life. She took care of her family and served her Lord faithfully, and her friendship was treasured by all those who were privileged to know her.
Margaret also worked over 30 years for the Irwin B. Schwabe Company, or shirt factory, as most of us knew it.
Margaret is survived by 2 loving daughters, Peggy(David) Oswalt and Lesia(Steve) Hughes, both of Ackerman, MS; 4 grandchildren, Lewanda(Mel) Morse of Oxford, MS, Cynthia(Joey) Hood of Ackerman, MS, Katie(Charles) Corley of Ackerman, MS and Drake Hughes of Starkville, MS; 5 great-grandchildren, Emily and Allie Morse of Oxford, MS, Jonah and Owen Hood of Ackerman, MS, and Stella Kate Corley of Ackerman, MS; 1 brother, Terry(Joyce) Cobb of Starkville, MS; and 1 sister, Nancy Cherry of Westlake, LA.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Allie Gene King, her parents, H.H. and Jewell(Prewitt) Cobb, and 2 brothers, Jimmy and Frank Cobb.
