Martha Dale Lang

Martha Dale Lang, a beloved long-time resident of Ackerman, Mississippi, left her earthly family and rejoined her heavenly family on November 12, 2025.

 Born on December 30, 1942, Martha’s life was a testament to faith, resilience, and love. From the very beginning, she faced challenges with courage and grace. Her mother was exposed to German measles during pregnancy, and Martha was born with a hearing loss that she managed faithfully throughout her life with hearing aids. Despite these obstacles, she lived a full and joyful life, guided by her deep faith and devotion to others.

 A devout Catholic, Martha was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Louisville, Mississippi, where she attended Mass faithfully since childhood. Her quiet strength and unwavering belief in God’s goodness were an inspiration to all who knew her.

 Affectionately known as “Aunt Martha” to family, friends, and neighbors, she spent much of her life providing loving childcare for countless children in her community. Many of those children, now adults, continued to visit her and bring their own children to meet the woman who helped shape their earliest memories. 

Generations of family and friends remember sitting at Aunt Martha’s side, learning valuable lessons about faith, hard work, and compassion. She taught by example—sharing her love for farming, raising chickens, and gathering eggs—and her stories and lessons will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. 

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Hardy Lang and E.R. Lang; her siblings, Mary Ann Ham, Frances Lang, Irene Lang Tingle, Margaret Lang Kangas, Ernestine Lang Landry, Fred Lang, Kenneth Lang, and Pat Lang; nephews, Ted Ham, Jr. (Bubba), Richard Lang, Glenn Lang, and Robert Lang; and niece, Patti Power. 

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Rhodena Moss Lang of Ackerman, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory. 

Service Arrangements: Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, Mississippi.

 In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Martha’s memory may make donations to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Louisville, Mississippi. 

Martha’s legacy of kindness, faith, and perseverance will continue to shine through the lives of all who knew and loved her.
