Max Vickers passed Saturday, February 6th. A resident of Sturgis, MS. He was born in Morgantown April 6, 1931. Born to Moody and Annie Lois Vickers. He served his country in the army fifth division as a Sgt machine gunner from 1951-1952 during the Korean War. He received the purple heart medal in addition to many other medals upon discharge. In 1955, he married Joyce Clark from Louisville, MS. They were happily married for 65 years. He is survived by three children. Georgia (Gully) Warren, Bo (Kim) Vickers, Kim (Dawn) Vickers all of Sturgis, MS. Fourteen grandchildren. Misty Hunt, Justin Pritchard, Colby (Katherine) Vickers, Curt (Eden) Vickers, Neshay (Blake) Daniels, Tia (Daniel) Parker, Larkin (Jared) Daniels, Kimberlin (Bryse) Christopher, Trystun Vickers, Sackett Vickers, Nashlynn Vickers. Twenty-two great grandchildren. Kaden (Megan) Hunt, Kohen Hunt, Sage Pritchard, Zander Warren, Sheyenne Warren, Janet Warren, Hank Vickers, Hagen Vickers, Ayden Hester, Ryder Bo Vickers, Gracelynn Vickers, Kipland Vickers, Everly Vickers, Coltland Vickers, Brantland Vickers, Blakeley Daniels, Knox Daniels, Griffin Daniels, Fletcher Daniels, Ellis Parker, Anderson Christopher, Mary Rivers Daniels (due May 2021).
Max retired after a successful career in farming. He spent much of his time in his overalls, hunting, riding the four-wheeler, taking care of animals, telling many stories, and spending time with his family and his "sweetie pie". Max was known for his ability to know when people needed help. Max touched the lives of the people around him with his contagious smile and humorous jokes. Always loved and never forgotten.
