Nancy Hamric McClure of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the age of 99. She was born on July 31, 1926, in Choctaw County, Mississippi, to the late Stanley and Loura (Norman) Hamric of Ackerman, Mississippi.
Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Robert L. McClure, and her parents. She is survived by her children: Nancy Leah McClure; and Stan R. McClure and wife Connie, both of Springdale, Arkansas. She is also survived by her two grandsons and three great-granddaughters: Robert C. McClure, his wife Claire, and their two daughters Margaret Leah and Hannah Claire of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Brian E. McClure, his wife Katherine, and their daughter Ellis Katherine of Boston, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Owen (late husband Al) of Jackson, Mississippi.
Nancy graduated from Wier High School and earned her B.S. degree from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Mississippi. After marrying Robert in 1947, they made their home in Yazoo City, Mississippi, for over 50 years, where Nancy was an active and devoted member of First United Methodist Church, serving her community with grace and warmth. In 2000, she and Robert moved to Springdale, Arkansas, to be close to their children, and she became a cherished member of Springdale First United Methodist Church.
Nancy’s life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and her community. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, filling her home with love, laughter, and Southern hospitality. She took immense joy in celebrating milestones, sharing stories, and nurturing those she loved. Even in her later years at Ciel Senior Living in Fayetteville, Arkansas, she welcomed new friendships and generously offered support and encouragement to fellow residents. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle humor left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Funeral services will be held at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel in Ackerman, Mississippi, on Monday, October 27. Visitation will be from 1:00–2:00 p.m., with a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Enon Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to French Camp Academy (French Camp, MS) or to His Helping Hands at First United Methodist Church (Springdale, AR)
