Nonaree Blanton Calloway

Nonaree Blanton Calloway was born to Corrie Ming Blanton and Robert Izene Blanton in the panhandle of Choctaw County, MS. Her childhood included elementary and Jr. High School attendance in Weir MS before completing her high school studies at Ackerman High School in Ackerman, MS. Following high school graduation, she attended business school in Jackson, MS and became a medical secretary and worked in the medical field for over thirty-two (32) years. She married Glenn Calloway in 1955 and they became members of Parkway Baptist Church in Jackson, MS, now Clinton, MS and she remained a member of Parkway until the date of her death.

Nonaree was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother Carlis Blanton, and by her husband of over fifty (50) years, Glenn Calloway. Survivors include her daughter, Kay Adkins (Tony), her son Brad Calloway (Laurie), and grandchildren and step grandchildren Rian Johnson (Chelsea), Regan Stephenson (Jordan), Amy Milam (Tim), Susan Mannino (Zack), Emily Jones (Wynde), Suzanne Adkins and Hunter Adkins (Mary Ashley). She is also survived by thirteen (13) great grandchildren with a fourteenth expected in March 2025.

Family expresses thanks to Jean Sheriff, Earlene Bridges and the care givers provided by Home Instead of Clinton for providing the wonderful care she needed to remain in her home.

A visitation for Nonaree will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Parkway Baptist Church, 802 I-20 Frontage, Clinton, MS 39056. A graveiside service will occur Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Enon Cemetery, 780 N Louisville St, Ackerman, MS 39735.
