Roy Sidney Black, Jr.

Roy Sidney Black, Jr. of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at his residence in Ackerman, MS. Roy was born on January 31, 1961 in Winona, MS to Roy S. Black, Sr. and Nannie (Raines) McPherson. He was 63 years old. After high school, Roy enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for 4 years. He was an electrician for years until he was unable to work and had to retire.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Roy is survived by his son, Andrew Black (Samantha) of Houston, TX, his daughter, Ashley Black of Ackerman, MS, his granddaughter, Mallie Black of Houston, TX, and his former wife, Lynn Black of Ackerman, MS. He is also survived by 5 sisters and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy S. Black, Sr. and Nannie (Raines) McPherson, and a sister.
