Roy G. Dobbs

Roy G. Dobbs, 83, of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at his residence in Ackerman, MS. He was the son of Buck Nolan and Mavis Ercell(Oswalt) Dobbs.

Roy was a retired foreman/supervisor for TMA Industriesand a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. Roy was a member of the Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman, MS, where he served faithfully for many years. Roy loved music and was an active member of the Enon C.P. Choir.

He is survived by his wife, Betty (Murphy) Dobbs of Ackerman, MS; 1 daughter, Paula (Jonathan) Adkins of Canton, MS; 3 sons, Rodney (Shelley) Dobbs of Brewster, MA, Bruce (Laura) Dobbs of Ackerman, MS, and David (Helen) Dobbs of Madison, MS;

2 brothers, Dale (Ruth) Dobbs of Tupelo, MS, and Stanley Dobbs of Ackerman, MS.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and are expecting another great-grandchild on September 1st.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Ercell Dobbs, and 1 sister-in-law, Judy Dobbs.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, 2:00 p.m., at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman, MS, with Rev. David Dobbs, Rev. Rodney Dobbs, and Rev. Jerry Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held at Coleman Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m.

Coleman Funeral Home will be charge of all arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Building Fund.
