Ruth J Nowlin

Ruth J. Nowlin passed away Monday, February 10, 2020, at North Mississippi Medical Center In-House Hospice, in Tupelo, MS. She was 82 years old. Mrs. Nowlin was born March 9, 1937, in Choctaw County, MS, to Raymond Jackson and Arietta(Brooks) Staten. Mrs. Nowlin retired from Mississippi State University Sanderson Center as business manager.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church near Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home, and Friday, February 14, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. till service time at the church. Burial will follow in Macedonia Primitive Baptist Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

Mrs. Nowlin is survived by her husband, Joel Nowlin of Ackerman, MS, 4 sons, Don(Amanda) Nowlin of Pennsylvania, Eddie(Jimmie) Chesnut of Starkville, MS, Robert(Kim) Nowlin of Odessa, TX, Martin(Candy)Nowlin of Shallowater, TX, 3 daughters, Vicky(Lance) Groceman of Ackerman, MS, Marie(Dusty) Dendy of Ackerman, MS, Linda(Dennis) Mulkey of Bandera, TX, 3 brothers, Carl(Sheila) Staten of Rogers, AR, Andy(Dorothy) Staten of West Point, MS, Billy(Linda) Staten of Ackerman, MS, 1 sister, Rhoderia Weeks of Ackerman, MS, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nowlin was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, and 1 brother.
