Shelby Jean Griffin

Shelby Jean Griffin, of Sturgis, MS, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, in Columbus, MS. She was 81 years old. She was born October 18, 1937, in Thaxton, Mississippi, to Boyd and Lula (Carter) McGreger. Mrs. Griffin was a retired teacher's aid and most recently served at the Sturgis Public Library where she thoroughly enjoyed the story time with the children.

Services will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., at Morgan Chapel Baptist Church near Sturgis, MS, with Dr. Thad Moore and Rev. Luke Gardner officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, June 30, 2019, from 1:30 p.m. till service time, also at Morgan Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in the Morgan Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by her husband Miller Griffin of Sturgis, MS; her two sons, Gary M. Griffin of Clarksdale, MS and Ron Griffin of New Hope, MS; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and some nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that all memorials be made to the Friends of the Sturgis Public Library in Sturgis, MS.
