William Anthony Odom passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at his residence in Ackerman, MS. Mr. Odom was born November 5, 1947, in Oktibbeha County, MS, to Author Mancil, Sr. and Mary Louise(Presley) Odom. He was 74 years old. Mr. Odom was retired from Mississippi State University as a landscaper.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Craig Springs Cemetery near Sturgis, MS. Visitation will be held Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. till service time at Coleman Funeral Home.
Mr. Odom is survived by his wife, Mary(Phillips) Odom; 4 brothers, Hilbert(Helga) Bush of Starkville, MS, Jerry Odom of Bradley, MS, Author Mancil, Jr.(Gail) Odom of Ackerman, MS, and Paul(Debra) Odom of Sturgis, MS; 6 sisters, Betty(Chuck) Brown of Starkville, MS, Vickie(James) Salley of Ackerman, MS, Cornelia(Aaron) Roebuck of Kosciusko, MS, Charlotte Anderson of Starkville, MS, Stella Sanders of Starkville, MS, and Gwen(Roy) Ray of Bradley, MS; 1 God-daughter, Robin(Douglas) Briones of Sturgis, MS; 2 God-grandchildren, Nicole(Chris Coggins) Briones of Sturgis, MS, John Michael Briones of Oregon; 2 God-greatgrandchildren, Attleigh and Annalyn Coggins of Sturgis, MS; and 23 nieces and nephews.
Mr. Odom is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Hazel Danny Odom; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Hall and Deborah Odom.
