William “Bill” Parks Smith

William “Bill” Parks Smith of Greenwood, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. 

Mr. Smith was born on February 13, 1940, in Starkville, MS, to Rev. J.B. and Bennie Wade Smith. He was a graduate of Ackerman High School and Mississippi State University.  He was a resident of Greenwood, MS, and before retirement was employed by Staplcotn and South Group Insurance throughout the years. Mr. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood, MS, and was also a member of the Greenwood Lions Club.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Jo Quinn Worrell Smith of Greenwood, MS;  1 son, Quinn Smith of Madison, MS;  1 brother, Rev. James Erle Smith of D’Lo, MS,  and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents;  1 brother, John Bryant Smith, Jr;  and 1 sister, Marjorie Wade Bishop Thornell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, 2:00 PM, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS, with burial following inEnon Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at Coleman Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to any charity of choice.
